Procrastination and fear of failure
We all know the struggle with procrastination. You are probably reading this because you want to know how to get rid of it? I will try to help you on it by first explaining what procrastination means and why we do it. Then, I will give you some tips on how to stop procrastination and start taking responsibility of your life and take action. But first, I need to tell you a secret. I procrastinated with finishing this post. For the first time, I felt that I cannot get a post done. Isn’t it ironic that it is exactly the post about procrastination that I ended up procrastinating? Now that…

What happens when you slow down?
What can happen when you decide to slow down? My latest posts have been very much related to meditation and mindfulness, but today I want to take few steps back and discuss more in a general level about the importance of slowing down. What slowing down actually means, how to it and what are its benefits and impact into your life? I might not be wrong once saying that we desperately need help. We need to make some changes in order to stay healthy and sane. We need to learn to manage our lives in a more sustainable way and at the same time try to cope with everything that’s…

Limiting Beliefs
What is the story you believe in? How would you define your past, present and future? Have you ever questioned the way you see yourself and your life? I touched the topic of limiting beliefs in my previous post. Now I want to write more about it because I think becoming aware of limiting beliefs it is one of the most important learnings in life. During my mindfulness journey I have given a lot of thought around this topic and want to share it here with you. First, let me ask you a question. If someone asked you to tell about yourself, what would you say? In what manner would…

How To Deal With Frustration & Anger
Today I want to talk about how to deal with frustration and anger. These negative emotions arise to all of us every now and then. In many cases you feel frustration or even anger when it is required to control these emotions, for example in a public place or at work. Usually home is the place where you are free to express these difficult emotions. It is good to have a safe place for being yourself, but the way we deal with these emotions is where we often need some improvement. Frustration and anger are strongly linked to stress. Stressful events, tasks, responsibilities or the lack of meaningfulness in our…

MBSR week 2: Find Your Way
This second week of MBSR program has made it all more real. During this week, I’ve already noticed that the daily meditation practice has become a routine. For this second week, we have added 10-15min sitting practices in addition to the daily body scan practices. Even though these practices are in my daily “to do” list, I don’t feel like I need to, but I want to do it. Of course, there has been some evenings where I have been very tired, but then I have chosen to practice for only 15min instead of the usual 30min, for instance. During the first week and days, I felt very restless and…

Challenge Yourself – Mindful Daily Routines
Are you ready to challenge yourself? Here, I give you some effective mindfulness based practices that you can start doing already today! All you need is an open mind and you’re good to go. Mindful daily routines The challenge of this week is about mindful daily routines. Have you ever thought about how much on a daily basis you are operating in an “autopilot” mode ? When we are in this automatized mode, we do not concentrate on what we are actually doing in the moment, but we are either in the past (in your memories thinking how yesterday went, why you didn’t go to the gym last week at…

Discovering mindfulness – follow my journey
Hi all, Here it comes. The shift from travel posts to something very different. This is what I’ve wanted to write about for quite some time now, so I intentionally will shift to other topics for a while now. I have been now back in Finland for the whole summer after Portugal, with a lot of changes happening in my life, and I am now ready to share a part of it here. Before going to the actual topic of this post, I share some reasons why I suddenly decided to write about these things, what led me to it and also in general, what is going on. In my…
